This video shows the way to handle a child with excessive irritability. Severely crying child is a challenge to bed-side diagnosis but with proper evaluation and observation, one can come to reasonably correct diagnosis. Serious causes need to be ruled out immediately with focused physical examination so as not to miss out on treatable life saving interventions. Few causes may be potentially serious and also need careful attention. Random use of sedatives or antispasmodic drugs must be avoided as they could cause harm.
